    Hello listers
Been out of this place for a while enjoyn the best i can ridin.
How should the Maxim X behave when you ride it cold start with choke on. My 1985 Maxim X runs without any hesitation
Other hand 1986 Maxim X sputters and tries to die with choke on. Once choke is killed it runs/idles like silk.

I wonder which of these are behaving as its supposed to..?
I am thinkin may the bowls are set a bit low on 85 ..am i right.?

sounds to me like the 85 is a bit lean and the enrichment fuel makes it better.

The 86 is probably a bit rich on the mix and the extra fuel is making it worse.

Average the two and you'd be perfect?!

all my bikes ran good with the choke. although it don't take much warmup before bogging down.

my suzuki is actually the only bike i've ever had that actually starts up without the choke. although, in this cold weather. performance kinda suffers on the low rpm untill it warms up.
