Intresting... But not complete in my eyes. Still looks like a good buy though. With some work i'd be a pretty sweet bike.

Way to much for what it is. You can get a 1100 in mostly stock form for much less. The mods he made would make for a uncomfortable ride. But it does look cool.
If you are looking for a XS1100 there is a nice looking and running one here in Raleigh NC. He wants 1500, but will take less. Not to far from DC.

    GADFREY.

Why these fools hack up what was a decent bike and then think it's worth MORE than a clean stocker goes for is beyond me.

    Sorry, it looks goofy. IMHO.

And it's now not even worth $1200. Argh.

He says he gets lots of attention when out with his Harley buddies. Thats because they cant believe he actually wants to ride it. Good call Fitz, it does look goofy. I'll take my stock XS1100 over that any day, I'll get just as much attention just because my 30 year old bike still looks new.

i've seen original bikes asking that kinda money. i guess after 30 years they are worth more then there original retail price.

looks like it's missing rear lights. how is it legal to drive around with no brake lights or turn signals.

i don't think it would be any more uncomfortable then the original equipment. which still sucked.

+1. I was used to the Norton drawing a crowd; never really expected it with the Yamahas but it happens all the time.

i'd run very far away. price is crazy high and i'm not wanting somebody else's amateur chop job. if i want something that ugly, i can screw up a stock bike for a lot cheaper (and yes, i have proof that i can!).
    my 2 cents....

Some people have an affliction that compels them to do that. I have a friend like that. He does this to every Jap bike he buys....

Last year he bought a perfect Kawasaki Concours and proceeded to strip it, and made it into an ignorant naked street fighter. It looks weird as hell, but it does get a lotta looks and comments, mostly positive.

And it's stupid fast now ;)

Im going to have to agree with fitz as well. It looks stupid. Im not a big fan of the Yamaha's from this era with these mods. It takes a lot of fab to make these bikes look good chopped and bobbed. I think the the original tank always makes them look goofy. I have seen a few nice looking xj bobs on here but they are few and far between. Its just my opinion and I don't have to ride it. So what do I know?

man, i would just buy a stock one and make it your own (wether that be leaving it stock or chopping it up) buying someone elses project is just a bad idea. You dont know if everything was done right or if its gonna fal apart at 80 MPH. I would keep shopping. my opinion. :)

if your going to spend $2800 on a bike. i'm sure you can find something much much newer. and in better shape and probably lower miles.

around here. there are lots of early 2000 models for that price. why would i spend that kind of money on an early 80's bike?
