hi all,new here, tho i have been on b4 i registered looking at the mod page mostly.i have an xj600 which i am in the process of chopping at mo.
have always had sports bikes, the best of which was my 900 fireblade, which i sold to buy myself a 500 honda shadow.....to slow myself down.really got in to the cruising thing thanks to the lil honda, from there i got into watching biker build off etc on telly and really got the bug to chop.bought my xj600 from a bloke at work cheap solely with the intention of chopping it.its goin ok at mo and hasnt yet been resigned to the scrap heap.......tho theres plenty of time yet.
anyhow, thats a lil bout me n how i got here,i will post on the mods page when i have something positive to post.and i am sure i will try to pick many brains in the process.and hopefully i may b able to help some of you with whatever i pick up along the way.tho dont hold yr breath,i aint that clever.lol

thanks dude,im near hunstanton.ive seen pics of yr bike in the modifications section.it looks very nice.mine wont end up that good, its just havin sum bits cut off, tank changed for an xs650 tank, and probably a set of 750 katana shox fitted that i have wheeling there way to me at mo.may say sod it n hardtail it yet tho.but as it will b my main form of travel for work,im not sure my back can take the strain.lol.
i will see how it sits with the shox first.
i have tried to upload a couple of pics but it doesnt seem to b working.do i have to run them thro sumwear like photoshop or whatever its called to resize them?
wd like to put sum pics up so people can have a laugh at what ive done.lol

Hi mate and welcome to the site.
A noob here myself but already read some really good tips while on.

I live just down the road in Norwich and also have an xj600 they're quite popular on here with us brits, prob because pick up soooo cheaply.

    look forward to seeing pictures.

    hi matie,
ive seen a few very tidy 600's about here recently.mine was/is a real dog.but came to me for £125 with 8 months mot! quite a bargain i thought.and once i tightened the swingarm up,untwisted the forks so they went up and down, and freed the clutch cable off so i could pull the lever in without both hands,it handled n went quite well.gota say i love yr list of previous bikes.always wntd rgv250 and rg 500.had a gpx but only the lil 600.ive got a 350lc in the shed in bits, awaiting rebuild.its been 'in bits' for about 15 yrs now!!! really need to pull my finger out n sort it.lol.its gd to know theres a local on here,u never know, praps some of the others with them may join up in the future if they arent on here already.then we will have a crowd.lol.
gd luck with yr cafe racer project.i look forward to seeing how it turns out.

cleethorpes would be nice... as a hardtail isnt great to do a ace cafe in london run... or a very long one atm... I need to get the seat Gel packed... and just a bit more cosmetic work on that.. plus I need to hide all the wires under the seat still... but thats a secret ;)
