Okay, I need a replacement windshield for a factory XJ550 SECA fairing (1981-83). I also need all the mounting brackets. I'll buy a whole fairing if need be. Thanks!

Try War Eagle Racing or Gustaffson's Plastics, both out of Florida. Likely one or both will have the screen. Are you sure it isn't still available from Yamaha? I bought a new one for my 900 Seca back in 2000.

Hey Mac, thanks for the leads. Any chance you have a website address or phone number for these places?

Also, are the fairing windshields the same between different models? I'm just not familiar enough with the different models to know. I can always cut/trim the plastic down for height adjustment, it's just the overall shape and curvature that would be important.

    Thanks!

Both of these are from Gustaffson's site. I would highly recommend giving War Eagle racing a shout, by phone or email. My screen was almost $100 cheaper through them rather than through Gustaffson's. War Eagle used to have an online catalog for all their stuff, but now you have to contact them. War Eagle also has some wigged-out colors available as well, like chrome, platinum, gold etc, if you want to go wild. I got a 2" over screen with dark tint. In retrospect, I would have kept everything stock. You also have to drill your own holes in the Gustaffson's unit, and at least one guy had one of their Seca Turbo screens come molded too flat, and it shattered when he tried to fit it. The War Eagle screen is very sturdy, and comes pre-drilled. To be fair, the Turbo screen is pretty intricate, so it would not be hard to be off a bit on the dimensions. The 550 screen is a pretty simple one, so I don't think you'd have a similar problem.

Hey Mac, I've tried calling and e-mailing War Eagle for a week straight....no reply to e-mails, all you can do is leave a message on their answering machine (which no one ever returns). Is there some special trick to getting in touch with them that you know about? Thanks...............
