I have searched and havent found too much that helped. So...

I currently own a 82 XJ550, I have looked threw this site along with others. Where I have learned there are a good bit of upgrades for my bike. So im looking into doing a few of them.

    1) First is the FZ600 front forks and twin brake setup. So is this a direct bolt on? Or what mods need to be done?

    2) Rear drum brake seems sketchy, So what rear DISK brake setup will fit with little mods?

    3) Has anyone installed the FZ600 cams? Is there any difference or is it just all the work for nothing?

    Thank Y'all.

Hi quikcobra, I think someone on this site has put a FZ front end on a XJ550, it probably wouldn't be hard to do. Some XS bikes had rear disc brakes and nice looking rims too, should fit. FZ cams? Why not just buy a FZ 600 and save the agrivation, or do you like agrivation?

Well Im not to sure on the cam process. And there not being many write ups on it. I did'nt know if it was a good noticable cam choice, or something to just leave stock. I am highly leaning towards stock.

Im trying to go with some spoke style rims, but the front forks im really interested in.

The cams have more lift but that's all I could tell you, they also don't have a rev counter drive gear on them so that is something else you have to consider
