I've found a wealth of information searching around here on synching, tuning, etc....but all posts are missing some key information....

I always hear the pilot jet screws - fuel enrichment screws mentioned...but never any info as to WHERE THESE THINGS ARE.

The only diagrams I've found of these carbs are for purchasing replacement parts and, unfortunately, don't show these.

Does anyone have a detailed diagram or labeled picture of the Hitachi carbs (XJ750 SECA)? I'm specifically looking for the locations of the pilot jet screws, fuel enrichment screws, and anything related to tuning.

Forgive a carburetor newbie his flaws, but we've all gotta start somewhere!

they may have factory caps installed to block them. someone else more clever than I will surely post a picture. If you are looking down at the vac caps as if you are sitting on the bike with the tank off... they are on the top, forward (motor) end of the carbs. The enrichening circuit (choke) linkage is relieved so they are accessable. When I got mine there was evidence that the factory had blocked the screw access off but it had later been removed by a previous owner so I don't really have good tips about what to expect when trying to unplug the access. It's an emissions thing.

Well I'm in Kentucky, and we don't give a damn about the environments or carbon emissio-whoozits here, so hopefully those caps won't be on. Thanks though! I'll be sure and check that location.

Still would give my left arm for some detailed pics or diagrams. Need to get my bearings before I can start digging deeper.

Because its sunny and I can't help myself.
This is the view from the top and side of a set of Hitachi carburettors and shows the mixture screw or where it is when you take the cap out.

I was having a hell of a time trying to figure out what you meant by "it's sunny" until I realized you're on the other side of the planet. I guess sometimes we forget that the world doesn't revolve around us up here.
