Be interesting to see the results if survey was given on sites dedicated to different types of riders and bikes...

I took the survey. I wear helmets at highway speeds mostly and during rush hour.

I took the survey, always wear a helmet.

If you think people shouldn't have to wear them, ask Gary Busey what he thinks.

Took the survey. Always wear a helmet. Would wear one even if not required. My young sons seem to remind me to wear one, even without saying anything....

Since member plansea got hit at a stoplight a couple blocks from my house last month, I am considering giving up riding (again) until my youngest turns 18.

Helmet is simply a no brainer.

Here in Florida not mandatory with proper insurance but I wear one anyway. Being from Long Island, New York it was required, but I still would have worn one. Yep,they are hot,can limit hearing.blah blah blah.

Took the survey as well. I wear a full face helmet all the time when I ride. Partly because the nanny state of maryland says I have to and partly because it's just a good idea. The other part because my eyes water over 30mph and I wear glasses.

I think everyone should be able to choose the risk their willing to take in whatever they do. Until it clearly endangers someone else. If you want your brain splattered on the pavement because you'd rather feel the wind in your hair it's cool with me.

And then ask him again. Then do your best to get and hold his attention and then ask him again really slllloooooooowly. What a flowerpot! His answer will likely be quite interesting.

Never particularly liked him as an actor but what a waste.

I always wear a helmet, I've got two beautiful daughters and a wife that would kill me if she even thought I wasn't wearing one.

With my wife, son and daughter going down in the last two weeks, helmets are manditory to ride in my house (For Utah its optional for those over 18). Personaly I think it should be up to the rider (for those over 18) but for me and my house we wear helmets. Turn signals and new helmets are cheeper that hospital bils.

    Done.

Question: Is it a bunch of Harley riders that continue the myths of helmets cutting peripheral vision and making it so you cant hear?

I think it is ridiculous how simple and logical it is to wear a helmet. At speeds of 50 mph or more, the decibels from the wind are so loud, it can damage your hearing permanently. And everyone knows a DOT helmet does not affect your vision.

Also the majority of impacts from a head on collision (which is probably the most common) hits the chin piece of your helmet, or your pretty face if your not wearing one. Not only wear a helmet, but wear a FULL FACE helmet!!!!

There is nothing that pisses me off more than to see kids on crotch rockets, or grown men on harleys not wearing a helmet, and clearly it seems they think they look cool because of it. Ive never been on a bike without a helmet.

Besides isnt the incognito factor of a helmet much cooler anyways?

    THANKS GUYS!!

Survey is closed and you can see the results HERE on my blog site. There is another duplicate survey that I conducted from facebook and a winemaking forum just to see if there were any extreme variations between the 'groups'.
Some interesting results, but I have just one question... ... how can you be on a motorcycle forum, own a bike..and dislike bikes?!?! 8O I think some one was yanking my chain...

    Thanks again for the help!
