when does the pump initially come on?
when you turn the key does it come on for a bit or does it not come on until after you start cranking?

I can't answer this for sure...but as a general rule, most vehicle ignitions cut power to everything but the starter and ignition on cranking.,..to give the starter and ignition all the available amps...energizing a relay and fuel pump would take away from this.

I would think it would come on a few seconds after the engine starts...

A great site for info on Honda V4 Interceptors, but primarily Magnas and Sabres is the SABMAG FAQ http://wiki.sabmagfaq.org/FrontPage

And there is a fantastic active forum with much useful help and info similar to this one The V4 Honda message board http://v4hondabbs.com/index.php

That site has extensive info and help for Interceptors, Magnas, and Sabres

    I hope this helps
