HELP! rear motor mount bolt/rod

    How do you remove the rear motor mount bolt/rod from a 1982 maxim 650??? I have tried everything and it just wont come out! Is there a special tool i need or am i doing something wrong?

    A jack under the motor to get the weight off the bolt helps. Jack it up just enough to relieve the motor weight on the bolt. They are sometimes are coroded in place and a long drift pin is needed to drive it out.

    We did jack it up to relieve pressure. Can get the bolt to turn completly, but cant get it to come out.

    Probably got some mean ridges in the shank...might have to drive it out with a piece of rod or something

    you've got the nut on the other side off, correct?

    i've made that mistake once on A bolt.

    The bolt is probably rusted to the steel sleve in the motor mount. Try soaking with some penatrating oil then driving it out with a long punch. Be carefull not to dammage the threads.

    I just had to use a nice long bar and drive mine out. It got some oxidation and debris in it and made it really tight. just don't beat on the threads.
