I'm broke right now and could use some cash. Like the title says, I'm thinking about selling my luggage rack and sissy bar/pad. It's in good shape. I know this is worth quite a bit of money so what do you guys think I'll fetch for this on ebay. I've been told over $150.. Think that's true?

It's value depends on what it will bolt up to, as well as its' overall condition and who made it.

Is it an OEM Yamaha part, and what bike(s) does it fit?.

Re: Thinking of selling my luggage rack w/ sliding sissy bar

This is not up for sale yet. I just wanted to get an idea of what it's worth if I end up needing the money. I spent some time this morning cleaning it up and taking pictures. It came off my 1982 Maxim 650. It's not perfect but it's in great shape for how old it is. It's missing one knob to tighten the back rest but the bolt is still there so it can be tightened. One stud to hold a tube that the back rest slides in is snapped off. It could be fixed by grinding the nub off, drilling a hole and threading in a stud and you'd never be able to tell anything was wrong. Does anyone know what years and models this will fit?

Yours is better than most I've seen. Really nice chrome.

Even though it's not perfect, it's worth at least a C-note...the bolt, knob and nick are all easy fixes.

Re: Thinking of selling my luggage rack w/ sliding sissy bar

I have a similar rack/backrest on my 82xj650 and I found I couldn't really use the back rest. There is just enough flex in the tubing/s (by going back to the luggage rack and then coming forward to my back) It was beating the heck out of my back. I ended up removing the seatback from the rack.

It's hard to tell from the pictures but the chrome isn't perfect but it's still very nice chrome.

CowboyBob, I pretty sure the backrest I have is just for the passenger.. It's way too far back to try to use while driving.

I agree with bosozoku, it's worth at least $100.
