Well I traded some car parts for an 82 xj 650 that a guy toke apart to fix up but never got around to. Iv been slowly trying to peice it back together and iv been beating my head agiants a wall trying to figure out how the carbs go and intake go together. The carbs have a flat side with two bolt holes and I can't figure out how to put it back together the motor has the rubber mounts but I'm missing the parts going from the carb to the filter. I considered using pod filters but I have nothing to put those on either! Anybody know what it is I'm missing that bolts to the carbs?

    Use this Yamaha Site.

    Select: Go To parts catalog.

From the Menus ... Enter YOUR Bike.

You'll see the Exploded Views of Parts and Assemblies after selecting from the Component Parts available to View.

In the Lower Menu you can find the Part Name / Part Number / Availability

Fan, there are rubber boots (tubes) that use a band clamp to the rear of the carbs "throat" and then go all the way back to the airbox (they "push into/onto" the airbox openings).

We carry all of the items that you'll need in stock, just send us a PM or an e-mail for more info.

The two "holes" inside the carb throat openings should have brass air jets in them, those are not really "bolt holes"............!

This could be fun for everyone... you should turn this into a jigsaw puzzle on the forum. Take pictures and see who can help you fit parts together.
