using a 2 tube for 4 carbs

    Anyone use a 2 tube on a 4 carb. Just asking cause I had originally built a 2 tube synchro manometer for my xs650 which only has 2 carbs so just seeing if I could use this on my xj700x and the propper way of doing it

    I don't see why not....the important thing is to get all the readings as close as possible to being the same. It's easier to visualize four tubes simultaneously, but there's no reason I can see for not being able to do two at a time.

    I don't like doing it but it can be done. The #3 carb is the one that is non adjustable. I would start with the the tubes on # 3 & 4 and remember that when you adjust the sync your are adjusting 4 to 3. Then I would do 1 & 2. Finally 2 & 3.

    In days gone by; I've synced-up a whole rack of four with just one vacuum gauge.

    You need to be able to move the Golf Tee's around without dropping them; but you can get a bike dialed-in pretty darn good with just one vacuum gauge.

    I've got an old two tube mercury stick. I do my syncs just like bluemaxim suggested. Works like a dream. Except for my buddy's FZR, that thing is a PITA!

    Thanks fellas, I'll be off to the races as soon as i get the crank case fixed up. I just put some new pics of my proplem. Only thing is i screwed up the tittle of the file and called it an oil pump cover. OOps
