Can anybody tell me what I need to redo the rear brakes aside from new shoes? Is there a good rebuild kit out there? Currently, the rear brakes work, they are just really soft.

New shoes and new springs. (EBC shoes come with springs.) I got mine from chacal.

Clean thoroughly; lightly lube the actuating cam and shoe pivots.

Clean up the inside of the drum with emery cloth and/or Scotchbrite, wipe down with Brake Cleaner afterward.

That's IT! There's not really a whole lot in there:

(Of course, powder-coating your backing plate is optional.)

Thanks for the pic fitz. Do all EBC shoes come with new springs? Also, I don't know why there is another thread with the same question. I only posted once.

All the ones chacal has listed come with springs; he also has the springs separately if need be.

Fitz - powder coat the inside of the brake drum!! I wish I had the time & material to follow you. For now, I'll just look at your photo gallery.

C'mon gimme a break, you don't understand: The powder-coater was gonna charge more to do just the outside; they said it would be much easier (and cheaper) to just do the whole thing, because the torsion "arm" part needed to be done on both sides. (It was no problem masking the holes though.) I only NEEDED the ouside done. But it does make it much easier to keep clean.

It was part of blacking out the rear end: (The actuating arm is powder coated too.)
