BUY IT. We already know the owner doesn't know anything; it needs to be RESCUED!!!

Sounds like little or nothing wrong at all; maybe the "gas in the crankcase causing oil out the breather" syndrome if anything.

It doesn't sound all too broken to me.

I agree - buy it quick. I could also be condensation built up after standing. My bike poured out white smoke for 10 minutes after it stood for 5 months.

Wasn't it only this week the "Why are so many Xj's low miles......" post?

Sounds like he ran it out of gas. Buy it and take a gas can with you if you drove it out of his garage I bet the look on his face would be priceless.

I can guarantee you the look you get from the seller of a non-running vehicle when you drive it out of their driveway is priceless.

I once bought a non-running '67 Corvair off a guy, then re-gapped the points, in his driveway, (using a matchbook cover) and drove it home.

    Priceless.

i bet it had a melt down since he didnt say how long it was left running but you never know probably either timing chain or it dropped a valve or got so hot rings lost their tension or or torched the hed gasket . but would be worth a shot for that price even if it needed a rebuild

I agree with the previous poster. It sounds like he fired up his *air cooled* motorcycle and then walked away from his *air cooled* motorcycle. Am I missing something or doesn't an *air cooled* motorcycle require air to be moving across the cooling fins in order to draw away sufficient heat to keep from cooking it? Let's see. A couple gallons of gas in the tank, running at idle........ Probably good for more than several hours of cook time.

When working with an *air cooled* engine aren't we supposed to use at LEAST a decent fan to move cooling air past the fins if the engine is going to be running while the work is performed?

    Just sayin.......

Time, that video makes my blood boil, I posted that here awhile ago, they have another video of them rodding on it and doing burn outs. I'd really like to find the owner of the bike that sold it to them and go find the people involved in that... jeez people on here spend countless hours struggling to make their bikes run... and they blew up a bike ahead of any hardly out there.. i could go on

there is a big difference between melting and being blown up heat didnt kill that bike abuse did. i can only imagine the piston speed. how many bikes do you see with leaky head gaskets 95 % of the time thats from overheating and the owners not knowing it. not saying that it did overheat but thats what i would suspect

hmmm. I've seen this clip before but never noticed the word "vainqueur" across the screen at the end. Is this possibly French for "Wanker" a marvelous Anglo Saxon word that means the same as "Jerk off" except it's less pleasant?

What a bunch of idiots lets see them put a 20 year old harley up there and see how long it would last. I'm not sure what they were trying to prove other than these motors are damn near impossible to kill.

If I had the time and the cash, I'd like to buy a brand new FLHR, take it to their stupid event, and show them what would happen to one of their precious hogs under the same circumstances.
