Thanks, my parents dont know i have the bike and they're gone for 3 days so i figured I might as well put her up, and I dont like those pipes, they're half of the bikes weight... and it does sound kind of stupid with the center cylinder's baffles removed, as the center cylinder is a 1 into 2, and you hear each fire from that one cylinder..

anyways, i hope i do well, I have my eyes on another bike...

Well, I live in the wrong country! i would have stressed the "Original" condition rather than the faults but good luck!.

Make sure you really don't want it as this will probably be the only time you ever own one.

All that smoke and a screaming powerband - a hooligans bike! It's like sticking your middle finger up at the world.

I wouldn't call it a "craze" but it will most likely sell for that, no problem.

I would recommend you wait until spring when you could ask an additional $500.

Also, if the eBay thing doesn't pan out: don't give up; get ahold of Walneck's http://www.walnecks.com/ and run an ad. There are two of them listed there right now, one for $2995.00 that's nowhere near as nice as yours, and one for $4800.00 in a "set" with a GT380.

Walneck's is one of the primary places collectors look for old bikes; kind of like Hemming's for old cars.

I wouldnt sell it on eBay period where they take like 12 percent of your money, and than paypal takes out fees. Its your money not theirs, they didnt spend all of the tireless hours on it.

haha, I like to use the buy it now as more of an encouragement to persuade people into thinking its worth that price so they dont feel so bad increasing their bid... and quite a few times ive gotten lucky where they bought it... for alot.

as far as that hookah goes.. i used it for what it was meant, though in the cold negative temps of Houghton, I may have smoked it in my dorms and gotten caught a few times, but it's not as bad as the cat I had in my dorm... thats another story...

and ya, I cant have any wheel kickers cuz i need it gone

glad to see you bud! lost your number cuz i switched phone companies, and are you sure you want to rebuild your engine? it would be cheaper to find a parts bike.... but if you're gonna do it find an fz600 motor and put the top end on and bring her to life

I don't think you are going to find too many prospects willing to spend money on a 2-Stroke bike.

I didn't know that there WAS a craze for bikes that go Ying-ying-ying-ying.

    Rick,
You are way out of touch on this. Certain Two strokes bring much more money than XJs! My RD400s are worth more than most XJs and we could go on and on about Kaw triples. However, to bring the money they have to be really nice. Schooters bike is.....

Because of the way licencing for 16 year olds used to be in England until about 1980 (<50cc and able to be propelled by pedals), the Japanese companies responded with what were called "Sports mopeds" with 4 or 5 speed gearboxes, 2 stroke engines, turn signals etc.

These are now fetching £2000+ in good condidion!!!

This phenomenon has had me puzzled for the last three years or so when the prices for RDs seem to have suddenly taken off. A clean, low miles '73-79 RD350/400 will easily bring well over $5000 these days and a clean one sold (SOLD!) for $19K last spring. Admittedly it was one of the "special edition" models, but still...

The Kawi triples have just started to pick up steeply as well. I was also unaware of any "collector demand" for the Suzuki GT series, but it's there regardless and those prices seem to be rising too.

Schooter, don't sell it cheap. Hold it and the price will just go up.

Rick; KBB on the 550 Secas is up to $1030-$1150 ('81-'83,) 650 Seca $1005, but the 650 Maxims ('80-'83) only list $875-$985. The ('83) 900 Seca lists at $1410. So I guess it also has to do with "rarity."

I think there is an option on the ad to remove the buy it now after the first bid or leave it. I would guess the default is to remove it after the first bid. Don't know if you can change that after the fact though. Look at your ad options and see if you can add it back.

I'll bet out of 80 watchers there's another bidder lurking and waiting.

As of right now you've what, tripled your money already? If anybody's interested in it, tell them to get bidding or wait and see what happens after the auction's over.

Remember it's not unheard of for these things to fall apart.

I think you're going to have a few last second bidders. I've seen it before that all the action is right at the end.

Which you're gonna do anyway if you don't sell it...

But just tell him emphatically NO if you'd rather keep it than let it go that cheaply now.

Just a sidenote; I found a place that ships bikes at quite a reasonable price if you need the info let me know.

I had a bike shipped from Wisconsin to my little 'burg in eastern Michigan for right around $300. I had quotes as high as $1200.

Good Lord I hope u didnt sell it for $1080, that is at least a 1500 dollar bike. I sold my Gt 250 for 9 bills and it wasnt as nice as yours. If you still have it go to the suzuki sundial forum someone there will most likely be interested in it.

That ended up being my conclusion, and that was over 2 years ago. I was going to borrow the Company van, and drive over and get it. Then I did a "cost analysis" for the trip; once fuel, lodging and food were budgeted for it was much cheaper just to have it shipped.

It was a door-to-door service, it was actually pretty cool.
