replacement side cover

anyone know where i can get a right side battery cover for an 81 650 maxim?

 

They're pretty hard to come by most of the time, you might have to settle for one from a different but compatible year (any '80-'83) and repaint it.

Are the side covers from the 550 the same as the 650?

 

nope scratch that. I was going to offer you my 550 covers but they look different.

Man I could use some side covers for my 550, throw out the lexan ziptied to the frame!

The listing says "both" but it's talking all about a left. I'd contact the guy. Assuming you have a Max. (Fix your sig and profile, please!) If you have a 550 Seca, ya' on ya' own. And good luck.

And they do. If it has a price and an "add to cart" button it will probably EVENTUALLY show up if your order it. However, I've waited as long as 9 months for things to show up and their shipping is a bit harsh. OK, a lot harsh.

Very nice people to deal with, located up here in Muskegon, Michigan. (A big advantage for me being only a couple hundred miles away.) I too though they were great until I joined XJ Bikes and discovered chacal and XJ4Ever. And quit paying through the nose for the simplest of parts.

Check with chacal first, he has things that aren't even offered in the fiche (like brake caliper pin boots and stainless steel brake lines.)

And please fix your sig and profile so we know what bike you have, too, and where you're located.

Makes this sooo much easier.
