i've searched all the keywords i can think of to find this topic. i know it has to be on here somewhere; however, it seems that it would be faster to just ask you guys.

i just got my air joints (airbox to carb boots) from xj4ever. i went to the garage to kind of fiddle with gettin em on, as i have read here and there that they are a b**ch to install. some things i've read say that some of the boots will be shaped differently to accommodate the outside carbs, and some say that they will all be the same except on certain models.

i've pulled the airbox as far forward toward the carbs as i can, yet the boots don't seem quite long enough for the flange to sit on the carbs.

    what to do, fellas?

Are your new boots the same size as the old ones? Mine are about an inch and a qtr long (as measured on bike, ie can't see total length or amount in the air cleaner case).

Check to see if the air cleaner casing lower mounting bolt (just south of the regulator) is holding the airbox. I assume your not putting the boots too far into the air cleaner case. Pic would help.
