Where to find a "standard" petcock for my XJ?

Sorry, I'm sure this has been beaten to death on here. But I did a couple searches and did not find anything definitive.

I need to replace (or rebuild) my petcock on my 1982 XJ650. I would like to go to a standard ON/OFF/RES style. I don't like the idea of the vacuum operated unit's disposition to fail in the "ON" state. I ride dirt bikes extensively and trust myself much more thatn I trust the vacuum technology to shut the valve off when not riding.

Can anyone simply tell me where I can buy one that will work? Thanks!

I used one off a Blaster from my local Yamaha dealership. It was about $20 and works perfect. If you can, take yours with you and have them find a match.

The MOST Economical "Fix" for a Petcock that is leaking is to INSTALL an inexpensive Auxiliary Shut-Off Valve.

Briggs & Stratton make such a Valve in BOTH Straight and Right Angle configurations.
Once installed; when the Auxiliary Valve is Closed; NO Fuel gets by.

The Plastic Part can be virtually concealed by Painting it with Black Nail Polish along with painting the Hose Clamps needed for the install.

I did the above with my XJ, but I extended the fuel line a bit so that the shut off was located under the seat. Now you don't have to paint it and when left for a while in an unfamiliar place works as a great anti-theft device, the bike won't get too far on what's in the carbs if you shut it off when you leave it parked.
