Are you looking for the metal covers that are on each end of the crankshaft, or the plastic ones that live on each side of the airbox?.

My speedo stops at 85mph, so I've no idea how fast it will actually go. 8O

WFO works, why measure it?... :D

the 650's maxs top out at about 200kms according to www.Bikez.com personally I've had mine up to 170-180km but only for a short burst - it seemed to work fine, and still had some pull left, so I would say 200kmh would be a conservative estimate of the top speed

Without factoring in tire growth, redline/9500 rpm in 5th gear is 128 mph for a 650 or a 750 Seca. The most I ever saw when mine was still a 650 was almost 9K on the tach, or just under 120.

I make a very large hole in the air, so redline in 5th is do-able with a small rider and a healthy engine.

Start watching Ebay, Craigslist, and all the other usual sources. Those sidecovers are hard to find, and won't be cheap. It never hurts to ask here on the XJ forum, but it may take quite some time before you find what you're after.

    Good luck.

CHarlie, I have two left side covers (black)...one is perfect and the other has the lower mounting ear broken off. Both have the Maxim 650 emblems still on them. $5 + shipping for the broken-ear one, $20 + shipping for the fine one. PM me if interested.
