Ever since the late '60s, every time I've visited a motorcycle dealership, and/or been even vaguely interested in a bike for whatever reason, I've nabbed a sales flyer for it.

As a result, I have this eclectic collection of everything from BMW to Zundapp brochures with some interesting oddities.

I was poking through the file the other day and came upon the 1973 or '74 Moto Guzzi T3 brochure, and actually read it.

It's a CLASSIC example of why they need to use people who speak english as their first language to translate these things, (like Japanese owner's manuals.)

READ the "INTEGRAL BRAKE SYSTEM" section, carefully, and then tell me WTF DOES IT SAY??? I know one thing, I sure hate it when my wheel blooks.

Wheel blooking is a very dangerous situation, I have it when that happens. How does the brake pedal work the rear disc and one front while the hand lever works both front disc? Is there 3 disc on the front?

    My favorite:

Do not bang exhaust box at dogs.

(Excerpt from a Honda owners manual circa early 60s)

I Googled it and found this:

    1962 Safety Rules from Honda

Taken from a 1962 Honda Motor Cycle Owner's Manual.
Translated by Honda for the American Motorcycle Rider

    1. At the rise of the hand by Policeman, stop rapidly.
Do not pass him by or otherwise disrespect him.

    2. When a passenger of the foot, hooves in sight, tootel the horn
trumpet melodiously at first. If he still obstacles your passage,
tootel him with vigor and express by word of mouth, warning Hi, Hi.

    3. Beware of the wandering horse that he shall not take
fright as you pass him. Do not explode the exhaust box at him.
    Go soothingly by.

    4. Give big space to the festive dog that makes sport
in roadway. Avoid entanglement of dog with wheel spokes.

    5. Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the
skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around
the corners, and save the collapse and tie up.

?!?!?! wtf?!?!? Scooter...were you one of those passengers of the foot that hooved in sight and did obstacle the passage by not recognizing the melodiously tootled trumpet or even the vigorously tootled trumpet and the hi hi mouthed warning, causing the driver to brake hard with excessive blooking, so you thus ended up as the dog that makes sport in the roadway , entangled in the spokes?!?

(translation) Scooter...are you reading the same posts we are or did you get your head hit hard in an accident?!?!? lol  (or maybe I missed sumthin in translation 8O )

Yeah Fitz, I used to read the old bikes(new at the time) with a Japanese accent, it seemed to help and help them make more sense....try it!

It doesn't, foot brake works rear disc and one front
Front brake works only one disc
Excellent system once you're used to it

Schooter; the right cover is off in the pic to reveal all their high-tech stuff behind there, like the rear brake master, the fusebox, etc.

A Japanese accent won't help with this one, the Guzzi is an Italian bike!

And I can't figure out how you'd say "blooking" with an Italiano dialect...
