Please, post pictures from other angles as well. I would like to see the headlight.
I hope you don't mind my saying (nor should it matter to you really), but I did not really dig that xj550 fairing... I am old school, and prefer things less fancy, like the picture attached.
All-around great build, my friend. Keep it up!

yea this was a very old post and i just finished with my project so i wanted to revive it. the xj550 fairing idea, i threw that out couple months ago but if i had more xj bikes, i'd do something with that fairing and put lights instead of horns. maybe someone can do that for an idea?

i'll shoot a video & pics but sorry guys i can only shoot with my phone, pics and vids. I'll get a different background and more pics after school tomrw if i don't have much demanding studying for math :( I have to get agm battery but other than that, i have to push start cause the gel battery i got isn't giving out much cranking power <120cca. I didn't know we need at least 200cca.

the back is from a tr750 replica. you can find many replicas by google.

definitely slick looking .if only the back bones of the frame sat lower you would almost feel like you were part of the bike instead of sitting on top of it. But you can only work with what you have

thank you, 80einstein - you've really done it, man. The chrome headlight is "metsuian" (wonderful in hebrew)! Sweet ride, shiny black beauty.
    all thumbs up, really.

@cutlass79500: "wish the rest of the bike fit that nice body work"
Please elaborate. The way you wrote this sounds like a criticism without making your aesthetical point. From here, looks like 80einstein is puzzled! :)
"wonder how it would look a bit lower" - is this what you think would make "the bike fit that nice body work"?
    Just asking...

it looks great what i saying might not have sounded that way. There is a lot of air between the pods and rear wheel. There is nothing you can do about it. It makes it look tall. The slick tail section with the skinny tire. wonder if it might look better with the wheel up in the tail section a bit more. When i said you can only work with what you have ment you really cant do anything about the skinny tire and the frame. If you did not have the frame above the carbs to deal with and the body work could of been a few inches lower it would look like a road race bike. I guess i am used to seeing bikes that have a lot of air between the tire and tail piece There is a big fat tire hiding there.
The work you did looks great I would never put down any ones bike there is a lot of hard work done to them to make them the way they want them i respect all the work they have done

thanks guys, but i wanted to show you after i put these tires on but i couldn't wait and show you ppls, i'm gonna put some bobber tires, i know its not a "real" cafe approach with bobber tires but i can always go back if i don't like it, which i doubt cause this build is all an aesthetic direction.

some guy built a cafe with the vx750 and its called a "zero cafe"

iA lot of inspiration from this forum and other places. I really have to thank this forum because i've read so many modifications pages and xj750 rebuild posts.
