Anyone know if a KZ tank will fit an XJ650?

or anything else besides a XJ series tank...

What size KZ are you thinking about? I know a KZ750 is way too long for an XJ550 Seca. I don't know how much larger the XJ650 is. I laid one on my bike just because I have one laying around.

I have a KZ440 LTD tank (looks identical to the KZ550 LTD tank). I'll take some measurements and update this post.
Update - looks like the forward rubber mounts are 40mm in diameter and about 124mm (max) apart. Distance from the rubber mounts to the rear mount looks to be about 444mm (17 1/2"). The rear mount is vertical; you use a 10mm screw horizontally into a welded nut on a tab.

I'm fitting this cb900 custom tank to mine . I had to cut down the front frame mounts and rubbers the get it on there . I still need to make a new rear mount.[IMG]

Search the Modifications area for the 750 Seca re-do with the Budweiser jockey shifter. He used a CB750 tank and side covers (with Goldwing vented louvers added). The XJ650 and 750 frames are very similar (tanks interchange).

I'm actually looking for a KZ tank because I'd like to head the direction of that rad, blue XJ 550 that's been running around the webternet.

    thats the one.

I don't have any plans for a monoshock mod, but I love the look of that KZ tank on there and that guy is no where to be found on this forum and he won't reply to any of the messages I send to his youtube channel :x and I JUST HAVE TO KNOW HOW HE GOT IT ON THERE! sorry...deep breaths...

Any developments on this? I've got my eye on a tank on ebay and I'd like to see how it sits on there before I bid/the auction ends...
    Many thanks!
