Bill, that one looks like one heck of a money maker for someone! 25 bucks for one days admitance? We have a couple of companies out here that go around and set these things up and usually, there is very, very little private participation and the only guys that have stuff to sell are the guys selling new stuff and a few reproduction parts. I won't support that kind of rap*.

I love going to the real swapmeets where a lot of people bring their old parts to sell or trade them and usually, the fee is only 5 bucks or so to get in and the organization holding it makes thier money by selling food and drinks. Maybe those fees well for seller spots?

Don't mind me, that's just my early morning rant...I just hate those that take advantage of our hobby as an excuse to try to stick it to people.

I can't stand swap meets that charge you an admission fee. There's one nearby that comes once a month but I refuse to go because there are so many other ones that pop up that are free to shoppers and only make their money off of space rentals.

Yes LJ, those are the REAL swapmeets. I live near Annapolis but drive up to PA for a couple each year. There's a club named the White Rose MC that hosts great events. I first rode up for a swap meet a few years ago and there was only a 5 buck admission charge for. It was great! Spread over several acres were tons of parts with a few more acres of cut grass across the road for car and truck parking and even a corral for bikes to safely park in. They keep a good family atmosphere and my girl and I felt very welcome. They also host a KA hillclimb that I took my 12 y/o daughter to. She has no real interest in bikes but she had a great time because of the nice way they had everything set up. They also have a huge clubhouse with kitchen and bathrooms. You don't mind paying 3 or 4 dollars for a burger because you know it's going to keep the club nice not into someone's pocket.

I've also attended swap meets hosted by the Vintage Motorcycle club that were real nice and also only charged a small fee. Of course when I rode my Vstrom out to Ohio for the Mid-Ohio Vintage event, it was top drawer.

Unfortunately, there also a bunch of "swap meets" hosted by a few companies and their ONLY aim is to take you the buyer and even the sellers for as much as they can make. I shun those like the plague. We have a pretty cool hobby but as with anything else, there are those scumbags who are there to try to take advantage of us.

What part of "MAKE MONEY SELL YOUR STUFF HERE" did you not understand?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Admission is free. The booth rent to sell your parts is $35.
I called the organizer (Patch was his name) just now and he explained everything.
