ENGIAN SWAP ????

    i have a 85 xj700n air cooled that the motor blue.i have a 750 yamaha for parts the hole motor is ther,i think the 750 year is a 82 or 83,will this egian fit and work on my xj 700,to me it looks the same.

    I believe the 2 motors are the same... just different bores. so they should look the same and should be interchangable.

    HOWEVER, you may need a new rectifier (regulator) and may also need a new ICU.... just because these motors are tuned differently from factory settings.

    you will also have to re-jet your carbs to suite the new motor...

    The bore's are the same....The 750 has a longer stroke.

    The 700 uses hitachi 33mm, the 750: hitachi 32 mm

    I cant tell you if a 1mm dif is a big deal or not. A single mil is such a
    small diff that you may,,....may be able to to still use the 700 carbs.

    But I'll leave that answer to the experts. I just don't know.
