    Welcome to the site.

Use search. It's spelled out in several threads.

Basically remove the brake lever, remove the brake support bar ( i forget it's technical name) Remove the cotter pin then the axle nut. Loosen pinch bolt. Axle should slide out. Lift up and to the right on the tire and it should drop off the final drive.

    Install is reverse.

My axle wont slide out that easy, I have to hammer it out but it only moves 2 inches, then it stops. What can be holdding it?
O loosened every bolt that can hold it down. I did remove front wheel before with no problem but this axle is a pain.

did search for all kinda combinations of rear tire removal, etc, but did not find any articles on the subject.

    thanks

Don't HAMMER on the Axle anymore.

Stick a BOLT and some Washers holding a few inches of CHAIN to the Hole in the Brake-side of the Axle.

Attach a Heavy-weight "Slugging Hammer" to the Chain.
Use the Impact Blows of the Hammer to extract the Axle.

((If the Axle moves 2-Inches and Binds, ... there is a chance that the Collar of a Bearing has seized to the Axle ... AND ... The WHOLE Bearing has been knocked-out of it's SEAT. You have to extract the AXLE ... by breaking the Axle loose from the Collar of the Bearing. Once the AXLE is successfully removed:
Re-finish the surface of a AXLE to Shining Bare Metal. Use Finishing Papers and apply a SMOOTH Finish to the AXLE. Wipe it with Silicone Spray.
APPLY AntiSeize Compound to the AXLE. >> Replace the Bearing(s). ))

    I dont understand your instructions:

what chain are you talking about?
I believe that the axle should come out on the brake side in a XJ750 with drive shaft.

could you explain this a bit more....

"Stick a BOLT and some Washers holding a few inches of CHAIN to the Hole in the Brake-side of the Axle."

Attach a Heavy-weight "Slugging Hammer" to the Chain.
Use the Impact Blows of the Hammer to extract the Axle.

You supply a chain and bolt it to the axle through the little hole in the end of the axle so you can attach a slide hammer to it instead of beating on the axle
    with a hammer

This is what The Doctor ordered.

Heavy-Duty Dent Puller with an assortment of attachments to enable the Tool to grab-on to anything needing a Heavy Impact to break-free or persuade from not being seized anymore.
