Not sure exactly. Fill up the the hole where the pipe goes thru with carb cleaner let it sit for a while then blow it out with compressed air. If that does not work and you have a grinder or wire brush pull one of the bristles out bend it so you can get it in the hole on the bottom of the bowl. The hole doesn't flow to much. I have an ultrasonic cleaner that works well. But you have to work with what you have. good luck

Go get the smallest "Number Drill" and roll some Duct Tape at the top of the Shank ... so you can get the bit to twirl between your fingers ... and use it to
auger a passage through the hardened blockage.

Once you get some Cleaner to get beyond the blockage, ... the Cleaner will be able to work dissolving the blockade.

I have some very small drill bits that I can check the size of with calipers, that is why I was wondering what the actual size of the orfice is. What would be the harm if I did open up those orfices slightlty?

    Harm?
    No. Not likely.
The Brass Siphon Tube that extends into the Well regulates how much Fuel is going to be allowed up the Passage when the Plunger is Open.

Just be sure to get the Intersecting >> DEPTHS << correct.
Too deep and you put a Drain Hole where you DON'T want one.

You need a #79 drill bit.....and you can get it from XJ4EVER.

Ok, the method I used was extremely easy and free. I took a piece of regular electrical wire and stripped off a few inches of the insulation. I took the individual wires one at a time and spun them all in the same direction starting with two until I felt the passage was clean. A quick spray of cleaner into the bottom passage will confirm when it's clean just be very careful and wear safety glasses when you try this for the first time. If you don't hit yourself in the face then feel lucky and remove the glasses, but when you do get hit in the face you will be glad you had them on. Trust me, it happened to me to and it hurts like hell.

Getting a face-full of Carb Cleaner when blasting that Orifice is a Rite of Passage.

    You paid your dues.

(I also think the Jap Engineers spent some time getting the geometry zeroed-in to make shooting that orifice with Carb Cleaner a surprise for unsuspecting Yankee.)
