Seat Reupholstered

    Just finished reupholstering my seats. I was going to pay the local shop to do it but I think it turned out pretty good.

    Nice job! What kind of fabric did you use? Doesn't look like there was a lot of sewing it must have been stretchy stuff. For attaching to the bottom of the seat pan did you use staples?

    I just finished mine last weekend as well. Here's a couple of shots of my XJ1100. The 'before' shot is just of the whole bike but you can still see what shape the seat was in.

    There was actually no sewing involved. A lot of pulling and stapling though. It was marine grade vinyl.

    I am a lucky dog. my girl does upholstery and detailing for a living. I have my seat torn apart now waiting for the material to come in. Yeah. The marine grade is best. What most people don't understand is that the more you sew vinyl (or leather) the more it weakens it. Every hole a potential problem.
    Looks good. Real clean feel to it!
