Do not try to remove them or you will be sorry!! If you have issues with them, we can tell you various ways to clean. repair and generally make them ok while they are in place. You'll probably break the bolts if you try to remove them. One of the members here did a write-up on carb cleaning. do a search and find it as he did a really good job and it's missing only a couple minor things.

If you are trying to replace the airbox to carb connections, they are relatively easy to find. you can usually find a decent set on fleabay.

The issue you need to confront regarding the Intake Manifolds is a difficult decision.

After nearly 30 years holding those Manifolds on, the Allen Cap Screws are likely to be SEIZED.
If they are, because they are made from SOFT UNTEMPERED STEEL, the Fastener is likely to SNAP.

The soft steel make it feel like the Bolt is coming out. When, in reality, its just being twisted until it breaks.

The Odds are 8 -to- 1 against you.
If you break-off a Bolt, ... getting the fragment out and repairing the Head will likely require:
    Removing the Head.
Machine work. Either D-I-Y Drill Press and Thread Tap or Machine Shop.

The Fragment may need to be "Burned-Out"
The Fragment may need to be disintegrated using Electrical Discharge Machining. "EDM" Machining. Then, re-tapping the Hole.

Wipe the Manifolds clean with Alcohol.
    Condition them with Armoral.

If you have to deal with cracks you may repair the Manifold using a variety of products that will work.
    Epoxy
    Bicycle Tube Repair Kit
    Plasti-Dip with Patch
    Plasti-Dip
    Liquid Electrical Tape
    -- to name a few.

Can you heat the head a little (torch etc) and make the bolts come out easier?

i'd heat the motor up before tear down. maybe wait till summer when the motor won't cool down so fast. twist the bolts out LITTLE by LITTLE.

    twist out. in. out. in.

when i had my 650 last year. the PO had new boots and bolts installed. i couldn't tell you how it happened. it was done by a shop.
