    Good find.

    I discovered Google Books has really old back issues of Popular Mechanics and Popular Science, like back into the '30s. The wartime issues are a scream. "Build your own tank" and such. "A practical bombshelter for the homeowner." AND an ad for VICE-GRIPS, from like 1940...
