    Looks to me like a bad sparkplug wire.

    The voltage is about 13-13.1. Its cylinder 2 and 3 so I don't think its a plug wire

    could it be the black box? does it do something to the spark above idle? like advance/retard the timing that might be out on mine. this is the third black box ive put on this thing. ran ok but only put maybe 10-20 miles on it then it started doin this.

    swap out your coils this will help eliminate everything downstream like the box and pickup if the other coil does the same thing then its connections wires black boxes pickups etc.

    Good idea. If I swap the coil leads it should tell me if its the coil or somethin else. Ilk try that when I get home

    sounds like you have a ratteling cam chain?

    Ya I was kinda gettin to that. I've looked how to do that in my book but wasn't too clear on it. Any explanations?

    Sorry can not help with that, as my 81 750 had new chain and tensions, and 83 750 seca has never rattled. There will defiantly be some one who can help, if not already a thread on it.

    well got the chain tightened up and got rid of the noise but still no spark when i give it throttle. its weird in that the problem will come and go. it will not run for crap once then the next day it will run great. im not even moving it, just startin it a couple times a day. any ideas?
