I have a '85 xj700 Maxim and the dim lights have never worked since I've had it. It's not really that big of a problem, just annoys me. It has a good light. Is there a fuse just for the dims, or maybe the switch has gone bad?

Do the obvious first, check the bulb. If that's not the problem, then take the switch apart and clean it. Or check the wiring.

Changing the bulb was the first thing I did.... There seems to be nothing at the switch. the yellow wire works and the green doesn't. I don't have a manual or anything, and don't know where the problem could be.

In the switch or the wiring, as "D" said.

You're going to need a manual or at the very least a wiring diagram.

Right. I ttok the switch apart, and it does nothing except on the high beam.
