    Hey there I'm James aka Jimbo. I'm coming from nortwest washington. I just picked up my first bike, a 82 maxim 750. I'm going to school for automotive repair but some of the motorcycle stuff still gets me. I look forward to sharing with you guys and learning a heap.

    Welcome from Kansas. I too came over from the automotive side of the garage. I have learned a LOT in the last 3 years, but it is also nothing too complicated, just smaller.

    VIN's start at 4H7-000101 (4H8 for Canada, 4K0 for Europe, and 4L6 for Japan)

    Mine is 4H7-000323 or number 223
    I throw in the "Maxim-I" for fun cause it is silly and says it on the side covers, but nowhere else, not even the service manual

My XJ650 is my first bike, so I can relate to your situation. You're in for an occasionally frustrating but extremely rewarding journey, so take the bad in stride and enjoy the good!
