about a year ago i bought a 4 into 1 header of a member on here it had a ugly beat up canister on it the rest was great. I am finally resurrecting the bike The head pipes on the factory exhaust have a lot of rust when i pulled the aftermarket tail pipes off found out they were not anywhere close to the same size of the stock muffler over 1/2 inch bigger in diameter no wonder they did not have baffles so i decided to put the 4into 1 on it. I have to clean it and repaint it which is no problem. Not looking forward to pulling the radiator and getting the nuts off the studs. But i will lube the heck out of them and use my 3/8 air impact shouldn't brake the studs will have a much better chance of getting them off then a ratchet without braking studs.
Was looking at those stainless mufflers on ebay that the small cars use i herd they work pretty well. I came across this yoshimura canister. looks so much better total cost shipped was 78 bucks which brings the price i have invested in the system $103.00 less paint. If anyone is looking to replace one i will let you know how they are when it gets here they had over 10 left

Another option if your not looking for a show bike is one of those small tractor mufflers (about 1' long) that will work if you can find the right diameter opening. They can painted flat black or what ever color you want and sound pretty good too.

The bike is looking pretty good. Going to have over 10 hrs just in sanding and polishing the the solid back wheel. If the bike was still bobberitized would try it. But after welding the frame back on where they cut it back off and returning most of the stock mixed with other chrome parts that i have to fit it wanted something that looks nice. I had a set of those mufflers crammed in the ends of my rd chambers back in the 80s the did sound pretty good

the killer part of the deal is the muffler was 29 bucks the shipping was the rest had to come from over seas. Those stainless import car mufflers were about the same price. But the end of the muffler where the exhaust exits was 4 inches and the muffler was 5 inches round. I did not think it would look right on the bike this looks so much better
