On a 750 XJ Maxim, trying to clean out the 4 YICS very small holes with a small wire bent at a 90 degree angle can be a little difficult at times.
Even though you know, from either side, the holes are 3/4" & 4" in on both sides.

My question is: Do these 4 YICS holes that are in this round enclosed channel that's located below the cylinder heads, do these holes all connect to the 4 Carbs that have plugs on the vacuum outlets?

If so, has anyone ever ran a wire through the Vacuum side at the top of the carb down through and had it come out inside the corresponding hole inside the YICS, to get a better clean out of the YICS?

Or, could one blow air pressure into these Carb vacuum inlets and that would shoot out any dirt into the YICS chamber, that can then be cleaned out more easily? Or, would blowing air pressure down through the Vacuum sides of the carbs, possible go into the individual Carb Bowls and blow the Carb Floats off their seats?

    Thanks for any replies!

I used compressed air, blowing it into one side of the YICS port with the other end closed off...WITHOUT the carbs on. Then I used a cruppled up piece of paper towel to block off each little hole to make sure I got all four of them clean.
The wire trick just didn't seem to work all that good for me and I really didn't know if I got them clean or not, so I went with my trusty air compressor to do it right.

my bike doesn't have YICS so no personal experiance....

I've heard from others to use a brass small bore gun barrel brush. Depending on where you're located this can be easy to come by.

Yes the brass gun brush is the way to go. One for a 50cal. I use one that has a pull rope. Very easy to clean with.

I push Carb Cleaner soaked "Patches" of Terrycloth in one side, ... and out the other.
When the Patch come-out as clean as it went in, ... I give it a douche.

I put a Cork in the YICS Hole and get the Bike running.
Then, ... I tape a Carb Red Tube to my Thumb. (So it don't get sucked-in.)

Pull the Cork ... Thumb on the Hole. (Heavy Vacuum.)

Connect the Can of Carb Cleaner to the Red Tube and start giving it a 1 second "Blast" of Cleaner.
    The rpm's go way up.

A few shots of Carb Cleaner and the job's done.
