    hey macros thanks for the link i will do that today i rtelized though i have bigger problems at hand i need to tackle i was looking in my tank and its rusty as hell i guess i never really looked in it much before so that needs a good cleaning before we go anyfurther, any cheap or easy good methods for cleaning/ rust removal from these tanks?thanks you guys have been a real help

    Do a search. There's alot of them. from chemical to mechanical.

    ya i did that right after i posted this i decided to go the chemical route and got some phosphoric acid someone recomended we will see how it goes. i need to get some pics of the bike up for you guys too.

    I wouldn't bother removing the suface rust unless you are going to line the tank, it will be back in 5 mins'......
