Vanson Leathers problems??

    Anyone ever bought any custom Vanson Leathers stuff and had any trouble with them?
    I ordered a pair of pants (custom) clear back in January...they said I'd have them by the end of February, then they said they got a bad batch of leather and had to order more and now it would be March...Then my wife called a few weeks ago and they said sorry...now it's looking like the second week in April. Called today just check and now they are back to saying they got another bad batch of leather and it'll be another month at least.
    This seems kind of unlikely to me...not having the leather to produce their products for four+ months sounds like a good way to go bankrupt!
    Any experiences with Vanson??

    My only experience with them was STICKER SHOCK. They've been around since "the old days" and have (had?) a real good reputation.

    Yeah, that doesn't sound right. Vanson has been around for a while, both riders I was associated with in racing preferred the Vanson product. Very hard to produce "leathers" without leather. I would be interested in outcome as well.

    What it sounds like to me is somebody being lazy and not wanting to do their job. Next time you call see if its the same person you talk to every time. But good luck to ya getting your gear.

    It's a long-standing family business, and I suspect they have seen sales decline like most other specialty businesses in these times. There's sure to be more going on than what they will readily admit to their customers.

    Cut them a little slack, but stay on them; they have always had the best of reputations so I'm sure it's not their SOP.
