I have an 82 XJ650 Maxim that is a bobber, I am running open headers (bought that way) and want to put exhaust back on it. On e-bay there is an XJ 650 L (Seca, I think) exhaust manifold (4 into 1) will that work on my bike? I know there are the MAC systems out there but I don't want to spend that kind of money. Thanks in advance!

That part is stainless steel, a foot long, connects the 4 header tubes to the Turbo flange. It will be of no help unless you can fabricate an exhaust.

The manifold should work, however if your 650 is the same as my 750 you will have to remove the centerstand to make it work as the flange of the 4-1 gets in the way.

And you will need to custome fab an exhaust from the flange back as it doesn't exist elsewhere to the best of my findings...

    Cheers

Short answer, no. It's a Turbo system collector. Normally aspirated Seca was an "R."

The exhaust system from any 650 Maxim, '81-'83 will fit. Anything else will require modifications.
