took a 102 mile trip out to a friends house and back today was fantastic weather... Bike ran good still needs some tuning…
My Speedo is about 2 miles an hour fast in the 30mph aria and when i took it out on the highway it was reading 45mph fallowing a car in a 60pmh aria when i speed up to the 60mph on my bike i pass everyone... is it normal that the Speedo is correct in the lower speeds and that far off in the higher ones?

Sounds like the spring is wearing. Same thing was wrong with mine, I'm just buying a whole new speedo.

No spring is wearing. More likely it's gummy: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=15303.html

or the cable needs to be cleaned and lubed.

Keep one thing in mind: Even all cleaned and "freed" up and with a brand new cable, it's not going to be the most accurate thing in the world, but they generally read a little FAST at higher speed.

You're welcome. If you like that one, you'll like the other ones I've done on valve adjustment, clutches, tach drive oil seals, exhaust gaskets, petcock rebuilding, and I forget what else. Look in "FAQ Suggestions."

I try to fill in gaps in the manuals.
