The bike is darn near ready to go, so I went to reassemble the gas tank today and found two pinholes that leak next to each other. I threw a coat of JB weld on the area and we will see if it works. It usually does. Need to order my battery and finish wiring it up and bleed the brakes. Geting close. Now lets just hope tuning that carb isn't gonna be to big of a chore...

Looks good. Must have spent a lot of time getting that motor to look that nice. Like the battery box, too. What was it in it's previous life?

Relic Wall clock package. Motor was hot tanked at the local Caddy dealer when I worked there last year while I had it apart for a gasket kit install.

I like the gold valve cover too. It'd be awesome if they made high temp in that colour, you could do the whole engine ;)

Love the gold flake covers. That's sharp.

ZaGhost, they do offer it in Copper. Hard to find anyone that carries anything than plain ol' red around here. I've been wanting to do mine in Titanium Silver.

BTW... let me know what you think of the Spitfires when you get them on. I have the rear tire on my latest bike that is one. Not sure I'm as happy with it as the Dunlop on my other bike.

Mufflers are welded on now and intake is re-tweaked to fit carb around shock.

yeah buddy! It runs! Too bad my tank was junk. I cut the bottom out of it and sent it to the intake fabricator today to make me a tank for this thing. I can't believe how good it runs without even messing with the carb at all. I am gonna borrow a buddy's digicam with a microphone on it and take a short vid of it running for ya'll to hear. Hope the tank doesn't take him too long...

That is a sweet setup, like how you did the color scheme and dropped your seat, any probs with the side intake system?, did you have to rejet?

single carb is from a late 80's CR125. It is a Keihin PE 35mm roundslide. They are great performers. The stock shock is fine BTW. No problems at all with the intake system. And it isn't a side setup really, just kinda kicked out to one side to clear the Monoshock. I have not touched the jetting at all. I may raise the clip position on the needle for a smoother transition and may go up one size on the pilot. The fabricator is a guy from thechopperunderground.com He lives in Brighton, MI

The panel has my ON/Off instead of a key and the red is my start button. the other hole was for a neutral light I decided not to mount. The intake pics show where Dan and I had to cut the intake and modify it to make the kick to clear the Monoshock.

it's done...stuck in a new motor from a parts bike I got. Used stock carbs/stock jetting, custom made airbox with a HEPA foam filter, gutted sportster mufflers, simplified wiring with OEM kill switch as headlight ON/OFF now.
Idle is a tad high in the walk around vid. It is adjusted now. Can't wait to log some seat time in it now. Need to adjust the rear brake yet. The front's with that stainless line on there are FIRM!!! Nice.

bought it at the Mt. Pleasant bike graveyard. Its from a Yammy IT490 or something. Disassembled, painted, epoxied an H4 55w halogen into the bulb slot. soldered on a ground wire. good to go.

Yesterday I tucked the wiring a bit more, installed the other Yamaha eBay grip, and scrubbed the underside of the motor with some mineral spirits to clean it up even more.
