:D Well i didn't buy it new and it is a long story but i have the time. In late 1980 my best friends dad bought this bike and my dad helped him unload it from the back of his truck. this guy was a logger so he has a few bucks to spare. he rode this bike for 1200kms in 10yrs. at which point my uncle bought the bike from him for $1200.can and put some kms on it. Unfortunately my uncle crashed on his MX bike during a race and became paralized *waist dwn* I bought it with 17000kms on it for the same $1200 about 8 yrs ago. I got it with the original Mag Mopus rubber that it came with. the rubber was bald, cracked and split but it was original. I have treated this bike with due care and attention to detail. I still have the center stand but took it off. I took it off because originally the stand contacted the pipes and caused damage and the pipes had rusted out. I cut and refitted some new slip-ons that i had powder coated. the seat is original and the bike now runs like a top. I just finished going through the carbs with a bit of help from the XJ FAQ FINAL topic in this forum. I have taken a bunch of pics of the carb job and will post them in my profile gallery.
Now the wife and I are on a couple of new bikes mine is an aprilia dorsoduro and hers is the suzuki gladius. shoot me any questions you may have i will gladly respond.
