Its the muffler on the top right on the link VVVVVVVVV
It took some searching but I found the exact mufflers.
This is the link to the mufflers to those that are interested.

Be careful with the mounting tabs on the backside of those JC Whitney mufflers. The bolts on mine were welded on poorly and both broke off when I tightened the mounts. I had to re-weld new bolts onto the back of the mufflers (no big deal, you can't see them anyways) I did burn the chrome around the new bolts when I welded them on, but just a 1/2" or so and it can't be seen when the muflers are on the bike (unless you crawl under the bike and look up!) Just sayin'.

Mine have a channel that is welded to the backside of the muffler that accepts the head of the bolt. The tab nuts up to the bolt and tightens fine.

Ya some just have that channel that accepts the sliding bolt. It's a much better design and helps make it easier to fabricate the support bracket too. I guess the welded on bolt idea works alright, but they could've welded it better on mine.

Is it actually a Maxim seat then? Or just some random seat you made fit? It looks like it belongs there.

Some of the wizards may know more but, its called a "king queen" seat.
I bought it from ebay because it was advertised as fitting a yamaha maxim.

Hrm. Not quite what I was expecting.

Actually, I should go bug that guy at the cycle shop -- he said he was going to scare me up a pair in exchange for doing some onsite computer tech work.

btw, those rusty ends on my muffles are screamin eagles baffles. They fit perfectly into the sportster muffler and give you good back pressure if all the fins are out.

There was a disclaimer sticker on my new muffler that reads to the effect. Not approved for bikes after 1983 year due to noise levels or something like that.
    Weird huh?

I have a question for you. I ordered the sporster mufflers from jc whitney and when taking off the old stock mufflers that are rusted/cracked did you just weld the new mufflers on to the crossover pipe or did you clamp them?

Did they match up with the correct angle as the stockers or what adjustments did you have to make to make them the correct angle as the stock ones uset to be?

    thanks

The PO did me no favors and had welded the original mufflers to the pipes so, it was a cut and paste job (the new pipes have the slip on insert held inside with a clamp).
I was careful to set up the old pipes on my bench and block it up with wood to get the angle close. I wanted the angle be a little less because Im thinking about getting some saddle bags.

Mine angle outward a little and are low enough to clear the saddlebags.

Staring down a double barrel. Great place for a signal location too.

I was going to mount the signals up toward the top of the license plate, but they would rub on the back of the saddlebags, so that's where they ended up.
