    So anyway...

My Seca is my daily rider. Runs great most of the time, but sometimes picks the most inopportune moments to break down. Typically the vacuum line, but I've also broken two clutch cables while out and about. I carry a spare at all times, now.

My project (finances and time allowing of course) is my Maxim, which I bought in '04, sold in '08, and (since I missed her so much and the new owner really didn't have the time and knowledge to get her running again) traded my car for in January.

Even when I'm getting frustrated, I find bike repair very relaxing. As well as rewarding. It also seems to save time as well as money.

It's also very cool when the guys stand around shaking their heads after another successful repair job, thinking, 'How'd she do that?'

My 12 y/o is headed down the same path..but as a Dad, I'll be quite happy is she skips bikes altogether. She called me this past weekend especially to tell me that she took her bike out while I was out of town seeing her brother through a bit of a mess he created and she said the chain was stuck and the brakes squeeked really bad. She was proud of herself as she described the things that she did to get everything up and running. She even made it a point of telling me that "even though I don't show it, I'm paying attention Dad"....

btw- my older sister taught me to roadrace and to wrench.....

    enjoy.....

Sounds like you're going to have your hands full with that one, Jeff. My 12 y/o has decided she wants to race stock cars.

Maxim-X: yeah, I've gotten a good deal of help from this site already.

    Pics? ... workin' on it....
