I've been thinking about upgrading to a Hella light for my xj650. My question is would I have to do anything to my existing wiring if I made the conversion switch?

I have actually been thinking about that to or if it would even work. Keep me posted.

Re: The Hella kit-- As long as your wiring is up to snuff, the Hella Halogen kit is "plug-n-play."

I'm running one that I got from XJ4Ever, the "high performance" kit, and it's great; 4X brighter than stock easily. Just be sure you follow the aiming instructions.

Are the aiming instructions with the kit? I like the 4X brighter idea with the deer in my area. I had one almost take me out the other morning going to work. Not very cool at all first thing in the morning. I'm just glad I was able to stop before anything happened. Thanks bigfitz! you are always a dependable wealth of knowledge.

Aiming instructions should be in the kit.

Highly recommended; it makes night/limited light riding enjoyable again.

We just had a nice big discussion about the H4 upgrades, I even posted a pic of the Hella next to my other H4. Thread is here: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=30690.html

Thanks for the thread bigfitz. I guess I will now have tape up on the outside of my garage also.lol This sounds like it might be just what I need. Seeing that far ahead would be a great benefit. I will be getting with Len as soon as I get the money for the upgrade.
