    We have ignition…

This is only the beginning of my 3D exploration of the XJ650 digital manual possibilities.
The sample is a low quality manual manipulation of the model. The finished product will be much better.
I am now to the point that I need a complete engine to dissect and model… anyone have a dead lump they want to donate to the project? The more complete and untouched the better but it can be non-reparable due to catastrophic failure or seizure.

    Feedback on the concept please

That is insanely cool. What software are you using? What kind of processing power? How long did it take to render? What else have you modeled?

    AWESOME! :)

That is awesome I would kill for a digital manual like that for my 550.

    Where in Michigan?

I have a 750 motor Ready for teardown. Cooked rings! Was going to go through it anyways.

I would be willing to let you borrow and disect and get the info you needed to move the project along.

I would eventually need it back, but that will be late in the year.

    I'm in Mason, MI!

The modeling software is Solidworks-Pro 2011.

The ignition switch / head lock took approximately 25 hr to model to 90% complete. I have some minor details to add before moving on the next assembly, goal is always 100% accuracy. (to do the complete bike will be 1500 hr +-)

Can you peel back the layers? I haven’t decided on the output for the content that protects me from piracy but my vision for the final output would allow complete viewing possibility’s, section view cut away, hide / show parts, make transparent etc.

MiGost—thanks for offering your motor to the project, unfortunately I cannot guaranty how long it would take to model, and the fact that modeling requires a complete disassembly would subject your motor to more harassment than is necessary for a top end rebuild. Also I would not want to be that guy who took your motor and was unable to return it on time or actually get it back together (too much pressure  ) but thanks for the offer.

I am looking for an upper fork tube to cut open and extract the bottoming / stop valve and lower bushings. My fork model is incomplete for now because I can’t decipher the code to remove the parts without damaging them.

I should be picking up another motor this week for the jugs and head. It will ultimately leave me with 2 motors. 1 rebuild, 1 scrap. We'll work something out.
