Hey all, long time since last post.

I have some new tires on the bike and noticed a nail in the rear tire, center of tread.

I pulled it; it's the rusted remnants of a nail, 7/16" long, 1/16" wide. Angle of insertion about 30 degrees off straight in (sohcahtoa?)

I have no drop in pressure from when I last checked the tire 2 weeks ago to 2 hours after pulling it.

Not fully penetrating = scott free? I don't want to take chances but don't want to be silly...

    Thanks!

    Lou

    Re: "Nail" in tire...

Soapy water to check for a leak, rinse real good, real real good when done leak testing.

Yeah did a soapy water test after pulling, it did not puncture. Just worried about a max of a 7/16" hole in the tread (probably more like 1/4" based on the angle).

As long as it did not punture or cut any of the cords in the tire, you should be good to go. Ride on!
