    Hello -

Im in the middle of putting my 1982 XJ550 together but I would like to buy a nicer battery cover. My current one has been hacked together and Im not a huge fan of it.

If anyone has one, please let me know!

    Thanks
    Chris

I know I have a battery box, let me check and see if I have the cover. You are talking about the little triangle plastic that covers the bottom of it?

Well, upon reading my post, I can see where you're coming from.

Unfortunately I am looking for the side cover that is next to impossible to find.

Thank you for looking and responding though!

If you miss Splazoids, I found two others on fleabay. Just googled and it lead me to them.

Splazoid: how much are you asking?

Jfstewart: thanks. If those are the ones I saw they were pretty dang expensive. In my eyes anyways. Then again when I bought the bike parts were available. Haha

Looking to get $90 shipped, but would sell it for $80 shipped to forum members. I found the two you're looking at on eBay.
One is painted red without the emblem, and the other decent quality one is $97 shipped.

Its hard to define expensive. When the part is complete and in the condition that Spazoid's appears to be in it seems to be a fair price. You know how hard they are to find in good shape. I looked long and hard before I found one in decent enough shape for my bike.

Its like I was told years ago when I was looking for a hood ornament for my '32 Essex. The guy wanted $150.00 for it. I balked at the price until he pointed out "You don't have a complete Essex without it."

Very true. This is my first bike afterall. I'll think about it for a little bit and let you know. I repaired mine so it works for now but I will still be looking around for a little bit. I just repainted my 550 and will be redoing it later this summer.

Thanks to both on your input!
