Are you in a school or something and don't need transportation? What about when you have breaks, finish, etc.? If you don't need the money and can afford to keep or store it, I wouldn't sell it. You are probably only gonna be able to get 6-800 dollars for it tops, but you never know, research craigs list and the classified ads in that area and get an idea of what people are getting for older bikes in that condition.

I realize how bad the manifold boots look but do you know for sure they are bad? I recently rebuilt my carbs. My boots look a little worse than yours. While I had the carbs off I felt inside the boots for any cracks that did go all the way through. To my suprise, I found that the inside of the boots really looked good.

You said you cleaned your carbs. Did you feel for cracks? Theres an inner lip where the carbs butt up to. Those things are twice as thick as the ends appear.

...just a thought. Those things are worth their weight in gold so don't let that work against your sale if their not bad!

If I were you I'd be sticking an inline filter in the fuel line ASAP. Why go to all the work and trouble of cleaning the carbs and putting them back on a bike that you know the tank is rusty. It may not bite you in the a$$ just now, but it'd suck if you go to sell it and the carbs start acting up. Just sayin'.

Found the intake carb. joints at the link below. left pair and right pair total about $104 . This is for an 82 xj650rj seca however.

Agree with Macros 10, probably 6-800 bucks.
Unless you really need the money or don't have the room to store/work on it, I would keep it and ride the heck out of it.
