I recently disassembled my entire bike. Well now its time to put it all back together.

I have a question about swingarm play. I am not finding much on it. I noticed that the swingarm has some play side to side in the mounts. IS this normal and common. Should there be play there. When I say play its under a 1/4 inch at mounting point which translates roughly to just under 1/2 inch of play at the wheel. I know there is going to be play in the wheel to a degree b/c it is a single sided swingarm. Just not sure how much is too much.

Thanks for the help guys...cant wait to get it on the road already. Also anyone have a round headlight for sale. I bought one off of ebay and well ya get what ya pay for...cheap cheap cheap...not liking it...
almost fried my electrical b/c of it.

There should be NO play in the swingarm, any side to side movement while riding is asking for trouble. After the rear is assembled with the wheel there should be NO noticeable play in it either.
I don't know the official Yamaha procedure for setting the swingarm bearings but I install them just like steering head bearings. There is a service procedure but I'm a little stubborn so I set them by "feel".
Get a manual and read through the process.

Yeah definitely check your bearings. You don't want your bike to do the wiggle worm while you're cruising!
