    hello all,
i have an 81 xj 750. i recently bought it and turns out, i have no spark. the start button does not work, it will push in but it does not turn over motor, so i used a screwdriver on silinoid to turn over but still no spark. im not sure what else is wrong, i might also be missing the starting circut cut off relay . im not sure. does anyone have any pics that would help me out thanks alot

Double check your fuse box and see if the fuse clips are broken and not making good contact. Also before you ride see the thread on rear brake delamination. If you need parts click on the XJ engine up on the top part of this page. Len will have all that you need.

    Good luck

Just a quick question... Did you have the key turned on when you jumped the solenoid?

check the start circuit interlocks. have you tried to start with the clutch lever pulled in? also, battery may be low enough to still light the indicators but not enough to turn the motor. i'm sure others will jump in with more ideas, but always start with the simplist stuff first. good luck.
