I pulled my carbs to see how gummed they were and noticed that the plastic fuel inlet has crackes in the surface. It's not leaking, but it looks fragile and makes me nervous. Is there any reason I should get the more expensive OEM plastic replacement instead of the less expensive metal after market?

    Thanks.

The plastic fuel inlet "Tee" pipe doesn't use o-rings like the interconnecting tubes do. Plastic is flexible enough to still get a good seal; a metal tee might not seal perfectly.

The plastic one is the way to go. Len carries them.

I asked Len. He suggested the metal. So, after adding that to my order, I'm adding $250 of parts to my $650 bike. Hope this gets it running reliably. :)

Sorry, for some reason I assumed 550/Mikuni. Len knows best.
